Gallery Closing

7 03 2015

We would like to thank everyone for all the support over the last three and a half years. It has been an amazing experience and we can’t express enough our gratitude to everyone who ever bought anything at our gallery or attended an event here.

If you are an artist who still has work at the gallery or a patron who has bought work and has not yet picked it up PLEASE CONTACT US IMMEDIATELY to make arrangements to pick up your work. We will not have the room to store any work after the end of this month and we need to get everything into the proper hands. Please send us a message via Facebook or Email. Thank you.

Our Last show

PPP Flyer
It is with heavy hearts that we at Breakneck Gallery unfortunately announce we will be closing our doors for good come March. It has been a great ride filled with fun shows, amazing artists, and forging great friendships and connections within the art community. We will miss the space and everyone who ever stepped foot in it greatly.  We appreciate all of the love and support we have received from our friends, family,  artists, and patrons. We set out with a goal to make art more accessible and exciting to those who may not have had a previous interest in art or art shows. In that sense, even though we will be closing our doors, we still feel that was accomplished in the 3+ years we were open and therefore see this experiment into the art business world as a success.

That being said, we couldn’t just fade away, instead we decided to go out with a BANG! We will be having one last opening Saturday February 21st. “Pulp Panel Pin-ups: A Collection of Comic Book Inspired Pin Up Art”.If you’ve ever had to choose between two of your favorite things, you know that the best option is always to combine the two. Imagine the relief felt by the person who finally decided to combine peanut butter and chocolate or cookies and cream. Breakneck Gallery’s last show travels down that same path, combining their love for the unlikely bedfellows of comic books and pin ups. Teaming up with Pin-Ups for Pit Bulls, Breakneck Gallery will be showcasing artwork portraying glamourous buxom beauties or candy-colored comic book heroes. The Lakewood gallery’s last show before closing their doors for good falls on the same weekend as Cleveland’s Wizard Con. Fans big and small are sure to find something worth geeking out over.

The opening reception will be  Saturday February 21st from 6pm-10pm with food, drinks, fun, and as always ART!

There will be a 21+ after party held at the Spitfire Saloon 1539 W.117th St.

The Rock Show II

1 11 2014

ROCK Flyer

Artists and musicians should go together like PB&J, but don’t always seem to find each other. The idea behind “The Rock Show” at Breakneck Gallery was to bring the two worlds together in the local cleveland scene. After how well it worked out last year, we decided to to it again. For the Rock Show II a large group of local artists were assigned a local band by random lottery and asked to create an 11×14 “flyer style” poster for that band. The show hopes to serve as not just an interesting art show, but also as a mixer of sorts for local artists and bands to meet each other and possibly make connections for the future. Also Stosh from the Spitfire Saloon will be displaying and selling digital copies of his amazing Cleveland flyer collection with proceeds going to suicide prevention in Ohio. Ken Blaze will also have a display of some of his photographs from the infamous Speak in Tongues and his book of the photographs “Escaped to the Future” for sale.

The opening reception will be held Saturday November 8th from 6-10pm with food, drinks, music, and of course ART!
There will be a 21+ After party at the Spitfire Saloon 1539 W.117th
